Madou Toastmasters Meeting no.1

We did it! We chartered our Madou Toastmasters club by our deadline goal of April 21st, and we held our first official meeting on April 22nd. Our charter president Victor Shen was very pleased and had many moving words to open and close the meeting.

David Tsui, the charter president of Shin-ying Toastmasters, had the honor of being our club's first Toastmaster. We were honored to have him as our first toastmaster as well.

Dan Chen, from the Management Information System Department, was the timer for the evening. He got the audience's attention with his subtle pranks.

Patrick Teng, from the Applied English Department, was the "ah" counter fro the evening.

Apple Sye, from the Applied English Department, was the illustrious joke master. She warmed up the audience before the big speeches for the evening.

Jim Hu, a professor from the Tourism Department, was the first speaker of the evening with is C1 speech. He introduced himself to the audience as a professor dedicated to his profession as well as learning English. He took a big first step with this speech.

The second speaker for the evening was Mey Suye of the Tourism Department. With her C1 speech she introduced herself to us through her family. It was a very entertaining speech that had the whole audience howling with laughter.

In toastmasters there's always time for socializing and taking cute pictures.

We had several guests this evening.

Including a guest from America!!

Camila Wu, the president of Shin-ying Toastmasters, was our evaluator for the evening.

Susan Su was the evaluator of Jim Hu.

Chin-chi Lai was the evaluator of Mey Suye.

Mathew got the best table topic speaker award.

Susan Su got the best evaluator award.

Mey Suye got the best speaker award.

Please come visit us the next time we have our meeting on Tuesday, May 13. That night we will hold our opening ceremony.
